Muitos de seus fundamentos foram incorporados da industria automobilistica japonesa. Assim como o XP \u00e9 conhecida e utilizada \u00a0mundialmente.<\/p>\n<p>O Scrum (nome derivado de uma forma\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e1tica adotada no jogo de <em>rugby<\/em>) \u00e9 uma metodologia \u00e1gil que foi desenvolvida por Jeff Sutherland e sua equipe no in\u00edcio dos anos 90. Posteriormente Shwaber e Beedle aperfei\u00e7oaram os m\u00e9todos do scrum. Os pric\u00edpios do Scrum s\u00e3o coerentes com as ideias do <em>Manifesto \u00c1gil<\/em>. Por esse motivo, assim como no\u00a0 XP, o <em>Scrum<\/em> tamb\u00e9m visa maximizar a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e o compartilhamento de conhecimento, minimizar a supervis\u00e3o, adaptar-se de forma \u00e1gil as mudan\u00e7as, produzir sucessivos incrementos de software, valorizar os testes e adotar uma documenta\u00e7\u00e3o minimalista, geralmente feita ap\u00f3s o final de cada itera\u00e7\u00e3o.
